Pittsburgh business owner Thomas West launches Republican bid for mayor

Thomas West, 48, of Highland Park, announced Tuesday evening at his campaign office on Broad Street in East Liberty. He owns the Trim Pittsburgh men's clothing store in Lawrenceville.
West said public safety and jobs will be among his top priorities.
“To victims of crime, I’ve heard you. To the thousands of people who have been left out of the conversation by those in power, I’ve heard you. To those who find it too expensive to live in the city, I’ve heard you,” West said.
